Methodology

iCubator Labs exercises one of the best known methodologies in technical implantations, the SDLC model (System Development Life Cycle). In essence, the SDLC model is a sequence of project stages in which the output of each stage becomes the input for the next. These stages can be characterized and divided up in different ways depending on the client’s needs, however, from start to finish, the stages are:

Stage 1 - Discovery and feasibility: Establishes a high-level view of the intended project and determines its goals.

Stage 2 - Systems analysis and definition: Refines project goals into defined functions and operation of the intended application. Analyzes end-user information needs.

SDLC Methodology

Stage 3 - Systems design: Describes desired features and operations in detail, including business rules, process diagrams, pseudocode, and other documentation.

Stage 4 - Execution: The physical implementation of the technical design happens here.

Stage 5 - Integration and testing: Brings all the pieces together into a special testing environment, then checks for errors, anomalies, and interoperability.

Stage 6 - Acceptance, installation, deployment: The final stage of initial development, where the technical implementation is put into production for business use.

Stage Optional - Maintenance: What happens during the rest of the software's life: changes, updates, additions, moves to a different computing platform and more.

Since each client has their unique requirements and style of working with a technical services group, it is understandable that not all stages will come in play, and furthermore can be rearranged in either a different order or loop. However, the one stage that is shared by all clients is Stage 1, which is the initial understanding of the project scope. After Stage 1, iCubator Labs presents all of its clients with a road map explaining the project stages to successfully complete the task at hand. Again, so that there are no surprises.

Project Aftermath

Once the project is complete, iCubator Labs maintains communication with all of its clients on a regular basis. The client will never feel left in the dark when working with iCubator Labs. Business processes change, technology evolves, and new ideas come in play, and iCubator Labs wants to be there to support its clients 100% of the time, even in the aftermath.
